A Bit About Me
I’m a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences and a Ph.D. Candidate in Social and Behavioral Health Sciences at the University of Toronto's Dalla Lana School of Public Health. My research explores the experiences and healthcare interactions of formerly sex-trafficked women, applying both intersectionality and critical social theory. I’m deeply committed to bridging the gap between academic knowledge and community needs.

My passion lies in developing innovative approaches to foster healing and health for those affected by trauma. Drawing from my own life experiences, overcoming multiple forms of trauma including youth homelessness, sexual exploitation, and trafficking, I utilize my academic, professional, and firsthand knowledge to create survivor-centered and trauma-informed services.

Before embarking on my doctoral studies, I founded and served as the Executive Director of Project iRISE, a community-based anti-trafficking organization. Through this initiative, I provided critical support to women affected by sex trafficking, offering services such as branding tattoo removal, vocational skills building, mutual support, and peer mentorship.

I’m heavily involved in my community and serve on the Board of Directors of HEAL Trafficking and the North Carolina Coalition Against Human Trafficking. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and traveling.
